{"id":15694,"date":"2020-03-24T12:23:48","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T12:23:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.compositestoday.com\/?p=15694"},"modified":"2020-03-24T12:23:49","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T12:23:49","slug":"uk-f1-teams-working-to-answer-the-call-for-more-ventilators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.compositestoday.com\/2020\/03\/uk-f1-teams-working-to-answer-the-call-for-more-ventilators\/","title":{"rendered":"UK F1 teams working to answer the call for More Ventilators"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A collection of UK-based Formula 1 teams, engine manufacturers and their respective technology arms are evaluating support for the manufacture of respiratory devices in response to the UK Government\u2019s call for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The teams are working in collaboration with Formula 1, the UK Government and other organisations to establish the feasibility of the teams producing, or supporting the production of, medical devices to help in the treatment of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.compositestoday.com\/tag\/covid-19\">COVID-19<\/a> patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the teams have expert design, technology and production capabilities, and specialise in rapid prototyping and high-value manufacturing, which is hoped can be applied to the critical needs set out by Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working with Innovate UK, the High-Value Manufacturing Catapult team and UCL and University College London Hospitals, the teams are evaluating a number of routes in conjunction with existing manufacturers and organisations from the aerospace and automotive sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is hoped this work, which is being rapidly progressed, will produce a tangible outcome in the next few days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A collection of UK-based Formula 1 teams, engine manufacturers and their respective technology arms are evaluating support for the manufacture of respiratory devices in response to the UK Government\u2019s call for assistance.
