Autodesk are hoping to accelerate the development of technology for advanced manufacture with the announcement that they have completed the acquisition of software company Delcam.<\/p>\n

Located in Birmingham, UK, Delcam\u2019s range of design, manufacturing and inspection software provides automated CADCAM solutions for a variety of industries, ranging from aerospace and automotive to toys and sports equipment. The company has more than 30 offices worldwide and approximately 700 employees.<\/p>\n

Buzz Kross, senior vice president for Design, Lifecycle and Simulation products said;<\/p>\n

The acquisition of Delcam is an important step in Autodesk\u2019s continued expansion into manufacturing and fabrication and beyond our roots in design. Together with Delcam we look forward to accelerating the development of a more comprehensive Digital Prototyping solution and delivering a better manufacturing experience, we welcome the Delcam employees, customers, partners and community to Autodesk.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Autodesk announced its intent to acquire Delcam late last year<\/a> for \u00a320.75 per share or approximately \u00a3172.5 million (~USD $286 Million).
